recruitment agencies in trouble?

now its no newsflash that the economic downturn has hurt business service providers. some recruitment agencies will be particularly hard hit. however the niche, value adding agencies out there that have always strived to provide true consultancy services to their clients will no doubt increase their market share. they may not see gargantuan profit increase, but rest assured that as the economic wheel turns, they will be the main beneficiaries. as the wheel turns they will witness stellar growth.

so if you are a recruiter that falls in to the latter then congratulations and enjoy the ride for the next 2 years. if not, you want to be reviewing your business strategy now or there will be no ride for you. we are not talking rocket science here either. understand who your customer is and what they need. determine if you are best placed to deliver this service, if not, find out who is and how you can benefit from the service delivery. there are plenty of vendors out there that are in need of partnering and reselling outlets.

so get out there and make it happen, or just get out of this industry.

if you still don't see the urgency here is a quote from an article reviewing talent2 performance :

"unprecedented full stop in the jobs market in 2008"

look forward to your thoughts
