on performing

i recall one of my first sales managers favourite sayings - "a sale fixes everything". and extrapolating this further, performing at our peak will fix everything too. you see it everyday when someone pushes themselves and invariably achieves. they are inextricably linked. 

and to subject matter closer to my heart we witnessed a breakthrough innings by australia's wicketkeeper-under-siege - brad haddin. today he strode to the crease with australian in a spot of bother and strode from the pitch with a new reputation following his 169 runs in super quick time. yep, the newspapers will be blazing his name again but not baying for his blood as much as pleading for a sound bite. fickle yep, human, absolutely. 

so when you are next under the pump, back yourself, its your only way out. you cannot expect someone to bail you out all the time and the feeling of satisfaction off your own efforts is priceless... cue the mastercard advert ;)
