and a final word on talent pools

this article appears today on the recruiter daily website and i couldn't agree with it more. if we wish to be truly professional in our recruiting we must get serious about using our talent pools. be they excel, access or ats. you cannot simply afford to continue the knee jerk reaction to recruitment agency usage when you may very well have the right person in your database. spend some time to set it up properly and then spend some more time mining it. once you have perfected these steps lets have a chat about candidate data mining outside your talent pool.

Recruiters in organisations with hiring freezes should be focused on building talent pools for when the economy turns, according to an internal recruitment advisor.
